Since the fall of Kabul, the Pakistani Authorities, especially the Army, have been rejoicing the unprecedented withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan; PM Imran Khan even compared it to the Independence of Afghanistan. But now, Pakistan is facing terror threats from two ends; one ends the TPP or Tehrik e Pakistan, a group affiliated with the Taliban. The other group is the unified Balochistan Liberation organizations or the newly formed Balochistan Nationalist Army, which wants to separate Balochistan from Pakistan. In January alone, Pakistan faced more than 20 terror attacks, but the situation has worsened further.
What Happened?:
On 2nd February 2022, the newly formed Balochistan Nationalist Army or BNA attacked two Pakistani Army installations, one of them being the Pakistani Army Headquarters. The BNA attacked the two military bases in Panjgur and Nuśki areas last Wednesday in the late evening. Both installations are two military headquarters of the Pakistani armed forces’ paramilitary corps. On highly motivated and coordinated attacks, the BNA forces under the Majid Brigade took control over both the installations and held them for hours. In Panjgur, according to the BNA sources, more than 190 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Punjgur alone, and the BNA had also destroyed four helicopters and a large number of military vehicles in the Panjgur Hold.
It took nearly 80 hours for the Pakistani Forces to take control over the Panjgur camp and eliminate 20 odd BLA/BNA members. On the other hand, in the Naushki area, four BNA/BLA members blew themselves up in suicide bombings at the checkpoint, and then other members started firing up at the Pakistani forces.
Point of Pakistan:
Pakistani Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had claimed both the attacks were foiled by the Pakistani armed forces, and the BLA took heavy casualties. The DG ISPR of Pakistan Major General Babar Iftikhar issued a statement claiming only 9 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attacks where the Pakistani forces successfully eliminated 20 BLA members. But when he was issuing the statements, the Pakistani forces were losing too many men in the Panjgur headquarters. The Pakistani authorities have severed all possible communication lines, including the internet and mobile communications, but BLA had managed to make the word out. Now the Panjgur and other sensitive areas of Balochistan are under strict media lockdown.
Aftermath:
In the Panjgur attack, the BLA members killed the Cheif of the Balochistan Frontier Core, Major General Ayman Bilal Safdar. He was going to the Panjgur on a helicopter, and BLA members destroyed in mid-air. The Chinese Communist Party appointed major General Safdar with a lot of funding to protect the CPEC projects in Balochistan. It is not our claims; Major General Safdar told it to the media himself a few months ago during his appointment as the Core-Commander of Inspector General. Major General Safdar also claimed that BNA (previously the BLA) gets funds from Iran, and once the FATF probe over Pakistan lifted, he promised to conduct operations deep inside Iranian territories.
These two attacks also show how Pakistani soldiers are poorly trained these days. This was supposed to happen as Pakistani Armed Forces are busy funding and training their expandable assets like the Lashkar-e-Taiba or LeT, Jaish-e-Muhammad or JeM, ISIS-K, Al-Quaeda all other terror outfits.
Civil-War on Pakistan:
The two places, Panjgur and Nuśki, are more than 460KM apart, yet the timing and coordination of the attacks baffled the Pakistani authorities.
The BNA who claimed the attacks is the new union of two groups fighting for Balochistan’s freedom. The United Baloch Army or UBL and the Balochistan Liberation Army or BLA have merged and created the Balochistan National Army or BNA.
Balochistan is currently the largest province of Pakistan which was illegally occupied over gunpoint back on 27th March 1948. Till then, the Baloch people were under constant torture by the Pakistani Army, which is mostly dominated by the ethnic Punjabi or Pakistan’s Punjab province. The Baloch took up arms several times in the past since 1948. Still, every time the uprising was brutally crushed by the Pakistani forces but now where the TPP is attacking the Pakistani establishment from the North. The capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, is under constant threat; the Baloch people may have got the window of opportunity to take control of their homeland from the South. The Sindi people from the Sindh province and PoJK or Pakistan Occupied Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir also made their mood to rise against the oppressive Pakistani Army and launched both peaceful and sometimes violent protests across their respective territories.
In the last 70 years, the Pakistani Army has kidnapped, tortured, and killed thousands of ethnic Baloch people and forced thousands to flee the country. Balochistan is extremely rich in many natural resources, including coal and rare earth elements but the poorest region of Pakistan. Now, with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor or CPEC, the torture from the Chinese Communist Party had reached the levels of insanity. The CCP directed the appointment of Major General Ayman Bilal Safdar to oppress the Baloch people even further. But with his elimination, it seems the BLA now has the upper hand. Previously, the BLA now BLN had carried out several attacks on Pakistani establishments, but now, after Kabul’s fall, things seem highly intensified.
On the other hand, the Taliban are also killing Pakistani Soldiers throughout the Durand Line. Taliban do not believe in the Durand Line and want to take over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan and some of Pakistan Occupied Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. When the article was written, a fresh attack on a Pakistani post located at the northwestern Kurram district on Sunday. The attack had claimed the lives of at least five Pakistani soldiers.
So in all borders, the situations look very grim for Pakistan.
How does the Future Look?:
It is still just acquisitions by Pakistan against India, Iran, and former Afghanistani Soldiers who are helping the BLA as Pakistan couldn’t produce a single proof. Although, in previous years, many ethnic Baloch people had asked Indian PM Narendra Modi to take action against the ‘state-sponsored genocide’ in Balochistan. It seems that the CCP is trying to replicate the same things they had done to the Uighurs. If it’s true, then the Baloch people have no other option to grab a weapon and fight back; otherwise, in the near future, we could only be able to learn about them on history books only if the CCP doesn’t erase them from there.
This situation may look extremely farfetched to many, but Pakistani PM Imran Khan has praised the CCP on the Uighur issues and went vocal for a One Party System in the Winter Olympics. He also said Pakistan will always be with China on the Xinjiang issues. As Pakistan is almost sold to CCP, it’s only a matter of time when the CCP will establish a puppet PM for Pakistan. Previously, the Pakistani Armed Forces, especially the Army, was considered the cradle of power, but now as CCP is directly interfering with the Pakistani Armed Forces’ postings and deployment, it seems the baton of power of Pakistan has already transferred to CCP.
India At War believes “Freedom is Everyone’s Birthright.” The Baloch people, the Tibetan People, should have their full rights. But India At War doesn’t support any kind of terrorism or acts of violence caused by anyone.
