After the dissolution of the USSR among many countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan also got their freedom. But one small 4,400 km2 area known as the Nagorno-Karabakh between the two newly independent nations became the reason for conflicts ever since.
This year several times minor clashes between the two nations Armenia and Azerbaijan were reported, but on 27th September 2020, the world probably witnessed ignition of the fabled World War III. At first, the war looked like Armenia is trying to take control over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, but on the other hand, two Islamic extremist nations Turkey and Pakistan gave their direct military support for Azerbaijan. Due to this the Russian Federation and France came openly in supporting Armenia. Now, according to reports, it does not look like a war but more than a modern crusade between the Muslims and the Christians. According to military and financial comparisons, Azerbijan was seemed to be a clear winner, but till now Armenia seems to have the upper hand in this war even after losing more soldiers and weapons.
Turkey is helping Azerbaijan with manpower, logistics, weapons including fighter jets, while Pakistan allegedly sent its troops at Agdam. On the other hand, you need to know that, during World War I, present-day Turkey is then known as the Ottoman Empire, brutally killed 1.5 million ethnic Armenians which they want to repeat. Moreover, intelligence reports also stated that Turkey is trying to redeploy the ISIS terrorists from Syria into the borders of Azerbaijan to help them. These are to show the solidarity of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Looking at this situation, the United States, India and other responsible nations of the world have requested the two warring states to stand down immediately as we have lost so many people this year due to the deadly COVID 19. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of France Emanuel Macron, has requested both sides and warned Turkey to stand down and stop engaging in the conflict.
Till now, hundreds of civilians as well as the military personnel. A very large number of tanks, helicopters, fighter and bomber jets, modern drones have also destroyed for both sides.
As major powers of the world are currently assessing their opportunities and chances of starting World War III, this whole conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan may increase.
